Mid 1950s Looking South
Back when Parham ended at Three Chopt
Above is a shot of the southern end of Parham as it intersected Three Chopt. The man is walking northbound on Parham. Three Chopt is the horizontal street most distant to the camera. Although the street sign only shows the word ROAD, that cross street with the rear of the parked car, is the original Michael Road. That portion has since been moved a little north to reach Three Chopt.
The smudge pot on the road brings back memories. As a kid I thought they were bombs, because they looked like the ones in cartoons.
